After Baltimore beats Dallas this week they will be 7-3 going into the stretch run...They will be getting most of the key injured players back over the next few weeks, which will make them the most dangerous team that could come out of nowhere and win the whole thing, again! :banger:

This season is very similar to the Ravens SB team of 2000...the offense has been shaky at best, but keep in mind, they have played without , Pro Bowler Todd Heap and they also had Jamal Lewis miss two games, along with all world Left tackle Jonathan Ogden and they also just got back the center , Mike Flynn...The O-Line barring injury should be in peak shape by december along with a fresh Jamal Lewis, the passing game is getting better as well, all this adversity and this team is still in prime position to make a deep run into this post season....

The defense is still the best in football, and they will soon get Peter Boulware back to make the pass rush even better....

All these factors add up to a much stronger team down the stretch, the Ravens have been playing for years with a huge handicap of no real offense, I expect the offense to be much better down the stretch, Boller is improving weekly now, when Heap comes back along with the O-line finally being 100% healthy, this team will be ready for anyone ...Except maybe the Patriots:nono5:

Baltimore is a the team to watch in december, defense travels in the post season...they can go on the road and win games, same as they did in 2000 .

New England is the only place Balto may have a hard time with in the playoffs...:103631605

a bucs / ravens SB is not out of the question

in all seriousness the super bowl is so well hyped up the match up could be arizona/miami and everyone would be near equally as hysterical

people can get excited over 2 opposing pieces of garbage, see the '04 election for further reference

Rob, please don't compare the Ravens to the Bucs, lol....barring any serious injury and if Balto gets all its players back they will be playing in the AFC championship game ...

1. Pittsburgh
2. New England
3. Indianapolis
4. Jets (w/ Chad)
5. Denver
6. Baltimore

On a neutral field Pitt & NE would be about 4-5 point fav. Indy about -3 and NYJ & Denv. both about a pickem.

actually a ravens/falcons match up would be pretty enticing. I like the stunner trend weve seen the last 4-5 years.

new teams all the time. more parity, less individualism. taglibue is very easy to dislike but look at the fact the new NFL TV contract is worth more than mlb,nba and nhl tv contracts combined.

Ravens in the superbowl? its completely possible. with that D and if their O can play well enough to not cough it up and rest the D enough. momentum and an A+ game can carry them straight to the bowl. look at carolina, the pats and the raiders without gruden even the falcons team that got beat by denver. all those denver teams with the old orange uniforms they were never supposed to be there. the last time pitt got in, it goes on and on.

I dont laugh off the Ravens, or any other team poised to squeeze in. how can you?!

You guys may notice I did say SLEEPER...

I really believe the team will improve drastically with the injured players back...more than most teams, the Ravens need all thier parts on offense as it is an offense 'Under Construction" lol

Lets see how it plays out..Its a tough road because they have 3 real tough road games left @ NE @ PITT @ INDY

Not saying they can't make it to the SB, I always like a team to have some offence, but the Ravens proved once before that a team doesn't need to be an offensive juggernaut to make it to the big show.

This Ravens edition has potentially a much better offense (than the SB team)once everyone gets back...They haven't played one game together yet this year...

Boller is still a work in progress and is younger than Big Ben...They went to Philly without Jamal and played Philly just about even...I realize that Browns game will probably stick in your heads as it was a miserable performance, but the Ravens NEED ALL THEIR OFFENSIVE STARTERS TO BE EFFECTIVE...more than any team

Missing Ogden is huge...They were expecting the O-Line to be the same as last season, but as of yet they haven't played one game together...The center just got back, Ogden hopefully will be back in 2-3 weeks...They can afford to play without him vs Dallas...

I think anyone of us could play for Ogden and the Ravens would beat Dallas...

Ravens Defense will probably outscore Dallas this week...

I can guarantee only one thing. The Colts will not win the AFC. No defense.

Can't we ALL just get along?!!

JM when you say "Sleeper" you're talking about what happens when you watch the Ravens offense right? :toast:

Journey,
I agree that this team reminds me of 2000. They will be 7-3 and playing without 3 Pro Bowlers for most of the year. I am shocked at how well Clarence Moore is playing. He is a big target that Boller is getting real comfortable with. I don't think it is a coincidence that Boller starting playing better when Moore became a starter. You can bet there will be many teams that would want to avoid the Ravens come playoff time if they are healthy. The toughest part will be making the playoffs with their schedule. The Jets win was huge for tiebreaker purposes. It should be a fun ride down the stretch.
